CSC Regional Office VII Director IV, Carlos Evangelista, said that the commission recognizes that public service has to remain competitive and responsive enough to meet the evolving needs of the clientele in this age of technology.

Evangelista was invited as the speaker of the ceremony and talked about Strengthening Civil Service in the New Normal where he shared the different actions CSC has conducted to aid civil servants in this time of pandemic such as creating memorandums in the authorization of online recruitment and selection processes, alternative work arrangements and support mechanisms of the workers in the government during the period of enhanced community quarantine among others.

Lapa said that despite the challenges of the new normal, civil servants continue to uphold quality public service by looking for ways to innovate to meet the demands of clients as key players in this age of digital transformation.

Dr. Ma. Fe Gocotano, Professor IV, and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Guidance Counselor, gave words of inspiration as one of the Gold Loyalty awardees who served 30 years in CNU.

She shared that acceptance of responsibility, respect for students, and passion for the profession are the three things that could summarize all she has learned during her stay in the University.

Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Daisy Palompon closed the awarding ceremony by thanking all the awardees and civil servants for sharing their extra time and unselfish service which helped the University attain its level of success.

“In this time of pandemic, we have many silent heroes in the University who volunteered their time and resources to allow the orderly operations of the University and to cater to the needs of our students and clients despite the risks involved,” she said.

She also motivated all workers to continue to be faithful to their pledge of service and to elevate the name of CNU in every word and gesture.
