About the Conference

Through the years, the International Conference of Nurses (ICONs) has been established as a momentous platform to successfully convene brilliant minds across regions and countries to share expertise and best practices in the conduct of nursing research towards evidence-based quality nursing practice.

This year, the 9th International Conference of Nurses (ICONs 9) with the conference theme: “Bracing Disruptive Health Innovations in the Society 5.0: Implications to Nursing Education, Research and Nursing Care”, aims to provide a digitally-enhanced platform for dissemination of scholarly findings among professional and student nurses around the globe highlighting outputs utilizing big data and artificial intelligence as well as sharing of expertise and best practices in the development of disruptive health innovations that impact on nursing education, research and nursing care. Embedded in the conference will be concurrent symposia on writing publishable articles and developing utility models and patents. The conference is likewise intended to equally provide a robust opportunity to meet and collaborate with experts in the nursing field.

Conference Objectives

  1. To provide a digitally-enhanced platform for dissemination of scholarly findings among professional and student nurses around the globe highlighting outputs utilizing big data and artificial intelligence.
  2. To create a milieu on sharing of expertise and best practices in the development of disruptive healthcare innovations that impact on nursing education, research and nursing care.
  3. To enhance knowledge and skills in writing publishable articles and generating high impact utility models and patents.
  4. To equally provide a robust opportunity to meet and collaborate with experts in the nursing field from the Philippines and other countries.

Conference Participants

All student and professional nurses are encouraged to participate and/or present research paper during this conference.

Call for Abstract

Interested participants are invited to submit abstracts of completed studies for the 9th International Conference of Nurses (ICoNs 9) with the conference theme, “Bracing Disruptive Healthcare Innovations in the Society 5.0: Implications to Nursing Education, Research and Nursing Care”.  The abstracts submitted can be considered for podium, infomercial or infographics presentation. Papers shall be categorized based on the following streams:

1: Research utilizing big data and artificial intelligence

2: Techno-Intelligent Healthcare Innovations

(Nursing Informatics, record management, advances in nursing practice and nursing administration)

3: Emerging Trends in Nursing Care and Nursing Academe

(Care across lifespan and Nursing Academe innovations)


 Note: The official language of this conference is English.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Authors are requested to submit their abstract, infomercial and/or infographics through bejocj@cnu.edu.ph (while updating of ICONS website is still ongoing). The deadline for Abstract submission is November 8, 2016
  • Your abstract of original work should be not more than 300 words, single spaced, using Times New Roman with 12 point font size.
  • Abstracts will be evaluated blindly by peer review. Criteria will include relevance to nursing, application to practice, innovation, methodological rigor, clarity and significance.
  • Authors of abstracts accepted for oral/poster presentation will be notified on or before November 8, 2019.  
  • There is no limit to the number of submissions per participant.
  • All paper, infomercial and infographics presenters must register for the conference.
